David Benforado
Cataclysms

Curator Eleni Varopoulou writes about the artist’s works:
In a series of oil paintings –enigmatic, dramatic, and lyrical– worked with emphatic colours, made by the artist himself, after persistent trials with famous and lesser-known colour powders, David Benforado moves beyond representation. For him, abstraction is a stylistic goal, an aesthetic stance vis-a-vis the external reality as well as his inner needs or expressive pursuits. At the same time it is also an expedition into the unknown: a personal and visual adventure into the world of colours, brushstrokes, into the canvas itself.
