They exhibited together for the first time. Although their works don\u2019t seem to match, they share a common element: both of them present the idea of immaterial light as material. Lizzie Calligas was awarded the Biennale\u2019s most honoured distinction The Golden Light of Alexandria for her series of big black and white photographs <em>Swimmers<\/em>. Nikos Alexiou created an installation putting together many of his works thus creating a retrospective exhibition under the general title <em>Angel Rolling up the Heavens<\/em> (2005).<\/p>\n<p>Nikos Alexiou 1960-2011.
