At the Xenia Hotel in Andros 2001-2012 (An Archive Opens)
Out of stock
Lizzie Calligas opens an archive of images, collected for more than a decade, from architect Aris Konstantinidis’ abandoned Hotel Triton (Xenia Andros). The project At the Xenia in Andros, 2001-2012 (An Archive Opens) acts as mediator between the past and present with an archive that documents but also interprets, suggesting new stories through the artistic experience. A blog has been purposely created, to encourage two-way communication between artists, theorists, cultural and archival institutions and the general public on the relationship that artists and contemporary art have with archives and the past, as well as with the present and society. The book was published on the occasion of Lizzie Calligas’ exhibition At the Xenia Hotel in Andros 2001-2012 (An Archive Opens) in the Institute of Contemporary Greek Art (iset), November 2012.
Lizzie Calligas lives and works in Spetses, Greece.
